What is Momme (MM)?

Momme (abbreviated as MM) is a traditional unit of measurement used to evaluate the weight and quality of silk fabric. Generally, a higher momme value indicates a denser, more durable, and higher-quality silk, prized for its luxurious texture and long-lasting performance.

For scarf production, silk with a momme weight between 6-16 MM is commonly used, offering an ideal balance of softness and strength. Silk measuring 19 MM or above is considered premium and is especially valued for its exceptional durability and rich, luxurious hand-feel.

The choice of momme weight should align with the product's intended use. Lighter momme silks (e.g., 8-12 MM) are well-suited for lightweight spring and summer scarves, and are often recommended for single-side digital printing. Heavier momme weights (e.g., 16-19 MM) are preferable for autumn scarves and other silk accessories, providing more substance and warmth.

If you have your own designs:send your designs, the designs should be large picture in PSD, AI, PDF, JPEG file no less than 300 DPI, provide pantone color number if you can.
For the big file, you can send it to us by we transfer or dropbox.

If you don't have your own designs: Various excellent designs are available here and are highly recommended. We can provide you designs according to your preferences for volume production with your logo.

 

4.Two Printing ways
 

Single-side Digital Printing   VS  Double-sided Digital Printing

How it works	We print the design directly onto one side (the front) of the fabric. The ink soaks into the fabric slightly, but the back side remains plain primarily or shows a faded outline of the design.	We use a special technique to print the design so that it penetrates the fabric completely. This makes the pattern look vivid, clear, and identical on both the front and back sides.
Advantages	Cost-Effective: It uses less ink, making it a more affordable option. Faster Production: The printing process is simpler and faster. Suitable for Many Uses: Ideal for thin, see-through fabrics like silk chiffon and GGT.	Looks Great on Both Sides: The design is perfect on the front and back. This is essential for scarves, shawls, and flags that flow freely and where both sides are often seen. High-Quality Feel: It creates a luxurious product with no "wrong" side, making it look more premium. Ideal for Thick Fabrics: Best for thick, thin, like silk satin, twill or wool, because the design won't look unfinished on the reverse side.
